the kooples

Whilst the concept of using real life (model) couples and its accompanying video campaign make me feel a little depressed and nauseous at the same time, there is no denying that The Kooples does brilliant basics. Their autumn winter campaign features some very covetable pieces too.

Firstly there's Corinna and Johnnny. They've only been together for a year and already they know how to coordinate a colour blocked outfit (also known as The Advanced Level of Outfit Coordination.)

Then we have Adam and Karolina, who are making the maroon school uniform look surprisingly chic (we all know The Kooples make a damn good blazer):

Prize for the most autumnal looking koople goes to Daniela and Julian, with their woody tones of forest green and ash greys:

But my faves have to be Venus and Jonas. Not only do they have really cool names, but Venus also has the benefit of the fluffiest fur coat teamed with blogger accessory du jour, the Panama hat, complete with some pretty beautiful rusty jeans:

(They've also been together for nine whole years, totally top trumping the others in the commitment stakes.)

I really like how the brand reissues its pieces seasonally with a different slant each time, like the leather tipped pumps, which were beige suede in the summer and are now in a textured mulberry or grey cord for the winter.

At a quite high-end high street price point, the brand is pitching itself at the investment basics market. Plus, I have heard from a very fashionable source that they currently have a very good sale at The Kooples concession in Selfridges at the moment too. Tres bien, let's hope the boyfriend is reading this...

  1. Love the intensity in the picture from Adam and Karolina - that and their ability to work the burgundy colour to full effect!

I want a new Blazer, might have to add this store to the Saturday shopping circuit!

  2. if you look exactly like your partner, does that mean you're in love with yourself? as all of them look the same
